We are exposed to toxins. We all know that. "They" say you need to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables (including legumes) and fruits each day, especially those with the most color (a sign of high nutrient content). These foods are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and many other substances that work together to lower risk of several cancers, including cancers of the lung, mouth, esophagus, stomach, and colon. Not only that, if prepared properly, vegetables and fruits are usually low in calories, so eating them in place of higher-calorie foods can help you control your weight.
What exactly does an antioxidant do for you. I like vegetables. Apparently my kids and my family do not. How do I get them to like them if it is good for them?
Try mixing your vegetables with a steak or some mashed potatoes. Also try using some new cooking styles and techniques that are easy to find on the internet. As for the fruits, instead of giving them sugary treats, cut them up some apples or an orange. Try making them an extra healthy strawberry or mango milkshake. Hope this helps!
Healthy foods that make you skinny.
Preferably packed with antioxidants.
i eat what ever i want an i dont get over 110 try pigging out makes me lose a few pounds i try not to starve myself seems to put more weight on. but i just might be a freak of nature
I am 5 foot in height and weight 98 lbs which means that I have a healthy BMI. However, I never eat enough healthy foods and that has caused me to be anemic, weak, and malnourished. I exercise on a daily bases as well. I’ll be seeing the doctor about this to perfect my new diet plan.
I’m cutting out junk food, saturated fat, processed fats, carbs from my diet even though I don’t eat that much of it– and replacing it with a complete day’s worth of needed foods.
-Omega 3, Antioxidants, Vitamin A, C, E, some B complex vitamins, minerals selenium, manganese, zinc, and iron.
My question is how long will it take to see or at least feel the results of switching diets? Anything from the skin, to hair, to digestive outcomes in particular. I’m open for any sort of advice or answer.
You will see results almost immediately. Your body has been working overtime processing fat, and that may contribute to fatigue and other problems.
Replace that with healthier choices and you should feel better right away. Digestion will improve immediately with the increase in fiber. Skin and hair differences will take longer.
Which preservatives / preservation methods besides antioxidants are used to avoid spoilage of foods with big amounts of fats (unsaturated)? Where could I find information about it??? I’m looking for a chemical approach (food chemistry)
Various methods of food preservation are pasteurization, sterilization, irradiation, freezing, canning and the use of other chemical preservatives. This causes vegetables to taste bland because of the lack of minerals in the soil. Then a lot of chemicals are added to make it taste good.
Salt (sodium chloride) helps prevent spoiling by drawing moisture out of food so bacteria can’t grow. Salt also kills existing bacteria that might cause spoiling.
the food that has been processed contains a lack of enzymes. An enzyme is a catalyst, which makes something work more efficiently. Without enzymes there is no life. Enzymes run the body. Your body re-supplies enzymes by manufacturing them or by receiving them from an outside source. They come from raw foods - vegetables, fruits, and even meat.
When there aren’t enough enzymes available on a daily basis, your body begins to cut back from various bodily functions. Processed foods and most all packaged foods do not contain live enzymes. When any food is heated over 112 degrees Fahrenheit, the live enzyme activity is destroyed.
So when we put foods that are void of adequate nutrition and void of any enzymes into our body, we eventually run down.

Like those foods with "superfood" "antioxidant" "natural" blah blah labeled all over them?
no because some of them have 200-300 calories…..it kind of cancel the nutrient part out…you can get the same vitamins/minerals by aking multivitamins which is 0 calories.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor for a rash that I have on my upper arms and he recommended to scrub the area with Selsum Blue and rub 1% Hydrocortisone after a shower. Also, he said I should keep my showers very short because if I sit there (which I do) I’m only drying my skin and that’s why the rash is coming up. Another thing he said is to buy Aveeno body lotion and apply that to my arms before I go to sleep so my skin can soak it better…
Lastly, he said I should start consuming LOTS of antioxidantss. What foods have the most antioxidants? Are there things that are better than others? Is there a reason why he wouldn’t prescribe medication instead of this crazy recipe? Have you ever tried this? If so, did it work? Any other comments or suggestions?
LOL Thanks for the compliment…The day of the picture was a good day Need Antioxidants? Then Start taking Glutathione.Buy them at the drugstores and Skin clinic to be assured that its not fake. Many artists take Glutathione. The problem is, its a little bit pricey.
Just follow what your Doctor told you, maybe that’s the best way to get over with that skin problem. Just make sure, you are consulting the right Doctor, you know, a Dermatologist!
okie i know ive asked a lot of questions but seriously i really need help like im not the person who does bad on any test and im worried cuz i dont undertsand this chemistry stuff! like at all plz help me with these rpactice questions..okie they r True or False Questions and if they r false can you tell me the right answer? thank you so much! okie
T or F
1) Acids have pH greater then 7
2) Powdered magnesium metal will react faster in acid than a single stip of magnesium metal
3) Cations have a negative charge
4) Metals are found on the left side of the periodic table
5) Groups of atoms covalently bonded together are called crystal lattices
6)Atoms are destroyed in chemical changes.
7) Metal elements tend to gain electrons
An ion with an ionic charge of +3 has gained three electrons
9) Antioxidants prevent foods from reacting with nitrogen gas.
if you could answer any of these it would be so totally awesome!
1. F acids have pH < 7
2. T
3. F Cations are positive, anions are negative
4. T
5. F Crystal lattices formed by ionic bonds
6. F When atoms are "destroyed", the reaction is nuclear…molecular changes are chemical.
7. F Metal elements donate electrons and form cations
8. F Ion with + charge has lost electrons
9. F prevent foods from reacting with oxygen.
Grapes, tomatoes, beams, plums, most green leafy veggies and most fruits especially things like raisins. collar greens, spinach and kale. Don’t have too much red meat go for salmon instead. Also oranges, berries, and grapes.
The one I realy forgot was green tea.
